The Common Data Set collection has been coordinated by Netsurvey Ltd. The Royal Navy Hydrography and Meteorological School supplied a survey launch pre-fitted with a motion sensor and positioning systems to ensure that each of the systems tested have shared the same platform. Thus the bathymetric data can be considered as truly common. There will also be data available using a number of different motion sensors with one swathe system. Ground truthing is also planned with assistance from the University of Plymouth. This section gives you examples of the Shallow Survey 2005 Common Dataset, and the following files are included for your preview.

How to buy the Common Dataset
For organisations wishing to purchase the Common Dataset for their own use, the conference
joint organiser, the Maritime and Coastguard Agency, are making it available as a portable
disk drive. The data will be burned on to the disk drive and posted by airmail or rapid inland
